What would be my monthly pricing estimate?
Your monthly estimate will depend on your usage.
For example, if you were on our Standard Plan for $49, $49 would be applied to your account balance as a monthly minimum commitment. If you wanted to send 10,000 SMS to the USA and the cost of SMS in the USA at the time was $0.015 per SMS, your monthly fee would be $150 (10,000 x $0.015).
You can set up your account to stop sending SMS/Voice when the account reaches zero, pause for manual reload, or automatically top-up your account to continue sending messages. However, if you only sent 1,000 SMS to the USA, the SMS would cost $15 (1,000 x $0.015), which is less than the $49 monthly minimum commitment. In this situation, the $15 is deducted from the $49 minimum commitment and the remaining $34 stays on your account for future use above the monthly minimum commitment. -
What happens when my balance reaches $0?
When your account balance reaches $0 you can do nothing and wait until your next monthly payment to continue sending messages, manually top-up to any amount of your choosing to continue sending messages, or set-up your account to automatically top-up to a predetermined amount to prevent any disruption.

Can I get a refund on my account balance?
No. Monthly commitments are commitments. However, you can put your account on hold and not pay a monthly minimum. Any credit on your account will remain and can be used once your account is reactivated.

How often do country prices change?
SMS and voice pricing fluctuate considerably by provider and country. At RingCaptcha, we understand the need for companies to plan and budget and believe that pricing should be transparent. That’s why we review pricing with our providers quarterly and adjust our prices accordingly. Any pricing changes we make are emailed to our customers directly. One price per country each quarter. No surprises.

Can I get a custom Sender ID? Does it work for all countries?
Yes. However, some countries require companies to pre-register for this by providing details about the company or message templates, and may charge additional fees. Contact support for more details.

Is there a character limit for SMS messages?
The character limit for a single SMS message is technically 160 characters. However, most modern phones and networks support message concatenation: they split large messages into individual SMS messages (called ’segments’) and then re-create the large message at the receiving end. The 160-character limit is for messages encoded using the GSM-7 character set. Messages not encoded with GSM-7 are limited to 70 characters.

What if the SMS message length is longer than 160 characters?
When you send an SMS message containing more than 160 characters, the message is split into smaller messages for transmission. Large messages are split into 153-character ‘segments’ and sent individually, then re-assembled by the recipient’s device. For example, a 161-character message will be sent as two messages: one with 153 characters and a second with eight characters.
If you include non-GSM characters, such as Chinese script, in SMS messages, those messages have to be sent using the UCS-2 encoding. Messages containing any UCS-2 characters will be limited to 70 characters. UCS-2 messages of more than 70 characters will be split into 67-character segments.
RingCaptcha bills for every segment sent, so if you have a message with, say, 140 characters and only one or two of them are UCS-2, you can avoid the cost of the second segment by removing those UCS-2 characters, if you can. -
